"Human beings will generally exercise power when they can get it, and they will exercise it most undoubtedly in popular governments under pretense of public safety." --Daniel Webster
The Health Care Reform Act is a violation of the Constitution. The recently passed Health Care Reform Act puts an end to any further physician owned centers participating in Medicare or other government run programs. No doctors will invest in facilities that can’t participate in these programs. Efficiency and better outcomes are clearly not the goal of this legislation.
Health Care reform is achievable without the federal government nationalizing the system:
• Tax relief for purchasing healthcare coverage is the first step in Americans taking control and ownership of their insurance policies.
• Eliminate special interest state mandates and allow consumers to purchase the type of insurance policy they need.
• Tort reform which caps non-economic damages in malpractice cases needs to be reviewed in Florida with the maximum amount reduced.
• Wellness incentive programs have a return on investment of 3 to 1. And people are healthier under these programs.
• Preferred drug lists lead to volume discounts and significant savings without compromising quality.
• Private Ambulatory Service Centers continue to grow in numbers and are providing better care and significantly reduced costs than traditional hospitals. Last year they saved Medicare over $1 billion and with better outcomes. This is the physician owned model we need to ultimately move the majority of healthcare facilities toward.
